Blåbjerg Barn
A cosy old farmhouse with a lot of barn!
The beautiful complex of farmhouse and outbuildings bear the classical marks of a home build over nearly 130years! There are signs ofit´s unfolding everywhere: a shed added here, a wall removed there, a staircase adapted to allow more light into the house…
The space almost begs you to let your imagination travel into the past as much as into the future!
Like the vision I am following with Stories Unfolding the story of our Blåbjerg Barn continues to unfold since 1897.
The farm is situated in Southern Jutland, a mere 15 minute drive from the Northsea shore and and about the same time from the Danish-German border.
Located 2 miles East of the main transit route up North it is surprising how “faraway from everything” this place feels. This said:
Beautiful as it is, is not as far away from the rest of the world as you would imagine. In winter there is light polution at night (which makes beautiful skies sometimes!). The starkness of the brushes against the lights of the town far away, the cars driving by on the mainroad a kilometer to the East, those blinking lights in the distance attached to some form of high tower...
However, it is quiet, very! Quiet! Especially to ears that are used to the hustle and bustle of a city life.

Sonderjutland: Flat better be your thing!
The landscape around us beggs the question: why is our little dirt track called Blåbjergvej ?
There is a simplicity to this wide open country side! Your eyes won´t get caught up on voluminous impressions. The horizon turns into an ever changing tapestry of colours and moods. Individual trees stand out and invite you to slow down and gaze.
Sound travels differently as we get to experience almost daily when the neighbouring colony of cranes sing. Over a mile away, yet loud enough to expect their sight any moment.
